The SAU 471 is a compact outdoor LED spotlight designed for architectural and landscape lighting accents. Its slim black aluminum housing and elongated 10×60° beam provide precise, linear illumination in gardens, on façades and pathways, and in outdoor compositions featuring plants. Thanks to its IP65 protection rating and mounting options for floors, walls, or ground spikes, it blends discreetly into contemporary outdoor environments.

The key feature of the SAU 471 is its extended 10×60° beam angle, which creates an even band of light across long, narrow surfaces. This light distribution is particularly well suited to illuminating wall planes, rows of hedges, and linear plantings when a longer, continuous wash of light is needed instead of a concentrated point of light. Its cleanly designed black aluminium housing blends subtly into its surroundings during the day as well. The high colour rendering index ensures natural colour reproduction. In our projects, we primarily use it alongside long wall surfaces and planting strips, including along fences and hedges.

Faro Barcelona developed the SAU 471 as the linear light-distribution member of the SAU spotlight family. Its IP65 rating and technical foundations are the same as those of the family’s versions with more rounded light distributions; the main difference lies in the beam geometry. This means that within the same product family, a more concentrated or elongated beam can be selected depending on the lighting required for the particular outdoor surface. From a design perspective, this is especially useful when a project requires several lighting effects created with luminaires that have a consistent appearance.

In HBellorín projects, we choose the SAU 471 when the even illumination of a long, linear surface defines the outdoor lighting concept. In our garden projects in Budapest, we also use it along fences, hedges, and planting beds, where the elongated band of light can follow the lines of the composition. Alongside the more concentrated-beam members of the SAU family, it offers a practical solution for situations where the aim is not to highlight a single point, but to provide continuous illumination across a surface.
